The most feared weapons in the arsenal of the Red Brotherhood space marine chapter is their complement of Land Raider Crusaders. These awesome machines bristle with advanced anti-infantry weaponry and nearly impenetrable heavy platted armor as they lead the Red Brotherhood vanguard into the heart of the battle. Able to transport sixteen battle brothers into position to inflict the greatest losses on the vile enemies of the Emperor, the Land Raider Crusader is a tactical nightmare to plan against in a campaign.
The Red Brotherhood has chosen the Crusader model as their primary Land Raider heavy support tank for their chapter due to their reverence of the bolter, as Red Brotherhood bolters are known for their craftsmanship and battle brothers legendary skill in using them. The Crusader model primary weapon however, is a front mounted twin-linked assault cannon, which can lay waste to any troops or light vehicles in its path. A multi-melta is available for use against tanks, walkers and bunkers. And side sponson hurricane bolters can pin down nearby troops as the marines inside charge toward any cowering enemies left alive.
Wow, looks great, Pete. So I know why you haven't posted any painted models in so long! That thing is going to be a nearly-unstoppable monster in these smaller games. But Orks like fighting against the best and hardest enemies. Nothing will impress Gork more than a chunk of this baby mounted on a banner pole!
ReplyDeleteVery intimidating. What are the rules for hurricane bolters?
ReplyDelete3 Twin-linked bolters. Not exactly las cannons, but great against troops.
ReplyDeleteOh ok. Not as horrible as the name implies. "Hurricane" suggests something that blows armies away, like assault 10 or something. Still, that *IS* 10 twin-linked shots per turn for the tank inself... Enough to blow away a squad or drop a monstrous creature.
ReplyDeleteSo the tank could kill up to 11 models per turn. That could do some damage to a mob of boyz. That is pretty potent offense, but the real strength is the defense. Anyone riding around in that thing should be pretty safe!
ReplyDeletePete, does it have any special rules? I know a Land Raider is an Assault Vehicle, which means that a unit can assault on the same turn it disembarks, unlike normal transports. Anything else?
I forgot that bolters are Rapid Fire so they shoot twice at targets within 12 inches. That is a whopping 12 bolter shots per turn and twin-linked means that they will hit 88% of the time, or 10.6 hits per turn on average. Ouch!
ReplyDeleteSo it could theoretically kill up to 17 models per turn, but should take out about 9 Ork Boyz on average. It has more firepower than the squad of Terminators riding inside.
Right! If the tank happens to not move and be within 12 inches of a tathey, it'll have 12 bolter shots. But who is going to walk up to this thing? I'm sure you'll both keep your distance or charge it with power klaws.
