The Fourth Xhorik War took place in the final years of the 41st millennium. It was precipitated by an ork invasion led by the notorious Evil Sunz warboss Filgakkk Skullsplitta and his Blitzdreg Boyz. Once fighting erupted, the ork forces were bolstered by numerous indigenous tribes of techno-savage orks of the World Wrecka tribe that had infested the eastern wastes since the destruction of their Rok decimated the climate of Xhorik Prime.
The system was defended by numerous regiments of Xhorik Planetary Defense Forces and Imperial Guard regiments, most notably the Xhorik 7th Drop Troops, the Firebirds, a regiment of renown that had campaigned all over the galaxy, including Rynn's World. Crucially, Xhorik Prime contained a small garrison of the Red Brotherhood space marine chapter 2nd company, tasked with ensuring the continuing export of the crucial Kleinhaurker ore needed to make the near-impervious armor of Land Raiders.
The Imperial defenders were all already pressed hard by the orks when a new threat emerged: the invading orks had unknowingly brought with them a mass of Tyranid spores that had lain dormant aboard their Rok. As the war raged, the Tyranids gradually began emerging and multiplying. They were programmed to consume all available biomass on behalf of the hive mind and began attacking all sides without differentiation of faction, race, or cause.
Before long, the conflict had escalated into a planetwide war that threatened the critical mining output of Xhorik Prime. Calls for assistance were broadcast as the beleaguered defenders struggled to hold out...
